Chad

Chad has been plagued with horrible sinuses. The 3+ years I have known him he has had atleast 2 sinus infections each year. When we were dating we were cuddled up on the couch and the blanket we were using had cat hair on it and that made him have a horrible allergy attack which then turned into a major sinus infection and he was sick for two weeks.

He constantly has nose sprays near by and I am always finding kleenex everywhere. Including after they have been overlooked in the laundry and washed and dryed. Needless to say I could be rich had I invested in Kleenex, Nose Sprays and lint rollers.

Well hopefully after today that will all change. I am sitting in the waiting room while he is having surgery on his sinuses right now. They have a long list of the procedures they are doing to him, but it comes down to it being called a roto-rooter of his sinuses. Thankfully the technology has progresses significantly and they do it all by fiberoptic scope and don't have to break any bones to do the reconstruction. They used to have to shove gauze up into the sinuses after surgery and after the healing process they would just pull it out. When Chad had the surgery done before, he said they pulled 10yards of guaze out. That is 30feet - so nasty! He said he about passed out. Does not sound fun at all!

Waiting rooms are always fun for people watching. There is this large polynesian person (not sure if male or female since they have a coat over their head) reclining in a chair snoring so loud and making all kinds of noises. I would be so embarassed! I guess the person is really tired because nothing seems to disturb them.

Makes for some entertainment while I am waiting.

The doctor just came out and said that Chad's surgery went well. Yeah! He is pretty out of it right now due to the anesthesia. Any ideas for jokes I can play on him when he is out of it? Just Kidding!

It was nice to not be the patient this time. In the two and a half years of marriage I have had two surgeries and been in the hospital twice. I have been poked by enough needles to last me a life time. I like this side of things much better. I hate drs, hospitals, needles, shots, medicine etc!

Bridger's Two Month Appointment

Today I took Bridger to his two month dr appointment.

He weighed in at 11lbs 2oz, which is in the 50 percentile.
He was 23.25 inches long, which is in the 75 percentile.
His head was 40.5cm, which is in the 75 percentile.

Here is a picture grandma took just before the dr appointment. He is starting to give really big smiles, which of course just makes your day.

Here is Bridger in his boppy today at 2months 2days. Compare to the next picture when he was 2 days old.

He has gained 3lbs and 3inches in 2 months. Let's hope he doesn't continue to grow at this pace.

Pictures of the little guy.

My sister is still stuck here in Utah waiting for the paperwork on the adoption to be finalized. She and Leo came over for dinner and we had to get a picture of the boys together. Leo is catching up to Bridger in size.

Today Bridger is 2 months old. I stole this idea from my friend who stole it from her friend. I didn't do it on his 1 month birthday, hopefully I will remember to do it going forward.

Bridger is really liking his bath time now. He just lounges and enjoys the nice warm water. He doesn't like it when I take him out.

Sunday night we moved him into his own room and into his crib. It felt so lonely in our room without him in there. It was pretty sad until I was able to get a nice quiet night of sleep without his little squeaks waking me up.

So this week I have been reading the book "Baby Wise" which helps you get your baby on a schedule. After doing lots of research and reading I figured out a schedule for him and tried to implement it on Tuesday this week. I had it all planned out to the T. Unfortunately Bridger was defying me and threw my perfect plan out the window. (who knew that the defiance would start so soon!!) I was very discouraged and thought it was going to be a hopeless cause.

Day 2 went much smoother and he actually followed the plan. He goes to bed at 7pm and wakes up at 9am. He wakes up at 1am and 5am to eat. Chad does the 1am and I do the 5am just before I go to work. This means if I go to bed on time at 9pm I get my 8hours of sleep!

Twins

You know the movie "Twins" with Danny Devito and Arnold Schwarzenegger?

Need I say more?

This is Bridger and his cousin Leo. They are 7 weeks apart. They were only 5oz different in weight at birth. How did Bridger grow so fast??

Bridger's Blessing

Bridger is going to be blessed on Sunday January 17th at 9am. Call me if you need directions.

It's been a crazy week!!

It's been a crazy week and it is only Wednesday.

I started back to work on Monday after being off work for two months. It is not easy starting back after being gone for so long. I have had a few blond moments trying to remember how to do parts of my job. I am struggling to get caught up and to get all the messes cleaned up.

Chad on his way to work on Monday hit some black ice and smashed into an embankment of snow. Luckily the snow was there or he would have rolled off the road into the canyon below. At first look, the car didn't look too damaged. Then we started finding more and more dents. Chad took it to an auto body shop to get a bid to get it all fixed and it came in at $3000. YIKES!!!

Yesterday I was doing some reading and realized I have been starving my baby. In all my readings it says that you should feed your baby 2 to 2.5 ounces of milk per pound of their body weight. At 4 weeks Bridger weighed in at 10lbs, so he should be eating 20 to 25ounces. When I was last at the Dr. I told him that Bridger was eating 3ounces every 3 to 4hours. The DR felt like he was gaining weight a little too fast so he said to try and push it to 4hrs. So that means I have only been feeding him 18ounces a day. Now I know why he would get so mad at the end of a feeding. I thought he was just gassy. I feed him 4ounces last night and he was such a happy camper.

He was happy until he started getting all congested and could hardly breathe. He was so stuffed up. Chad put tons of saline in his nose and sucked his boogies out, but they just kept coming. So this morning Chad took him to the DR and he prescribed antibiotics. Supposedly a baby's cold can turn into RSV really quick if left untreated and can be life threatening. However, if I give him antibiotics then they can weaken his immune system and cause major issues. How do I know what is right????

To top it all off Bridger only weighed in at 10lbs 4oz at 6.5 weeks old. So he only gained 4oz in 16days. I was told they should gain an ounce a day the first two months, so I guess he was starving to death.

I am exhausted from all the stresses of being a mom and making sure I make all the right decisions for his health.

Found it!!!!

This morning was my first day back to work and my first day back on my diet. I got up this morning and made my lunch and when I went to put it in my lunch bag I could not find it. It has been two months since I last used it and had no idea where I put it.

Work was good today, not as hectic as I thought it would be. I got there at 6:30am so that I could get off work at 2:30 to get home to spend time with my little man.

As I was picking up my bag off the floor, I saw my lunch bag under my desk. When I went to pick it up, I realized it was really heavy and that there was something in it. Then it all came back to me. My last day of work was November 6th, which was a week before my birthday and my coworker wanted to take me to lunch. So the lunch I took on November 6th was still sitting in my lunch box under my desk. When I found it, I started laughing hysterically and told my coworker. He said that is what that smell was!!!

Here is a picture of one of the items in my lunch bag. Needless to say I threw the container away.

Birth Announcement

Bridger is 6 weeks old and we are now just getting around to doing his birth announcement. I am getting them printed today, being mailed out may be another 6 weeks. I can't find my address list I used for the wedding announcements. How can I have lost that file? It may be 6 months if I don't find that file and have to gather addresses again.

No Cell Phones

Chad and I changed carriers on our cell phones and we transported our phone numbers to our new service provider. Today our service was terminated with T-mobile. However we have not received our new phones in the mail yet. The phones would have been here today had it not been a holiday. They are scheduled to arrive tomorrow, but we will be out of town until Sunday.

How am I supposed to survive without a cell phone for two days? What is this the dark ages?
