Good and Bad news

So today was my dr appt for my two week post operation checkup. I had hoped he would do an ultrasound and that I might possibly get to find out what we are having. So the good news is that the surgery went as planned and all looks good. Meaning no restrictions and the baby should stay in the oven as planned until fully cooked. Bad news - no ultrasound today so there was no sneak peak to what we are having! = (

My ultrasound is scheduled for July 7th, so two more weeks to wait! arghhhh I hate waiting!

Hypochondriac after all. . .

So apparently I am a hypochondriac after all. Chad went to the dr again yesterday and he has a sinus infection once again. I am just glad he is finally feeling better!

Swine flu. . .

So I think Chad has swine flu! Granted this could be the hypochondriac in me but he has all the symptoms!

According to the CDC, like seasonal flu, symptoms of swine flu infections can include:

fever, which is usually high, cough, runny nose or stuffy nose, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills, fatigue or tiredness, and diarrhea and vomiting sometimes. (The only two he doesn't have are the diarrhea nad vomiting!)

Last night he had his first fever and it got up to 99.9. He went to the dr yesterday but they told him it was just allergies. Since when with allergies do you have green snot? The poor guy is so miserable and I feel so bad for him.

I am freaking out because in all the articles I read it says pregnant women and fat people are the most likely to die! Great I am screwed! So far I just have a sore throat and the headache. I have also been sleeping a lot but I don't know if that is because I am pregnant and I am always tired or what.

Our first camping trip

So I got off work early on Friday and Chad had the car all packed and ready for us to go camping for the first time since we have been married. Pathetic I know! We had volunteered to help with the Ragnar Relay Race that goes from Logan to Park City. Chad's sister Megan and my sister's husband Jack were both running in the race. Our scheduled volunteer time was from 8pm to 2am, which is crazy because I am a zombie by 9pm.

We figured since we were going to be up in Huntsville late volunteering we should just camp over. We got there about 3pm, got the tent all set up and our little kitchen set up so we could make dinner. So we finally used our new tent, new coleman stove and several other camping items we got for our wedding.

I was so excited to go camping, but we didnt have much fun because poor Chad was feeling miserably sick and wanted to die!

The drive was beautiful with all this rain we are having everything is so green and lush. It was amazing.

Volunteering was fun and made me realize these people were crazy. The exchange we were at was a 4 mile leg and 3.2 was straight up a mountain and .8 was downhill. We got there at 8pm so it was just starting to get dark. The last team came in at 12:02and started running up the mountain. I looked up the road they were running and thought man these guys are psycho! There was no moon out and no light whatsoever on this road. I just kept hoping that no one was going to be attached by some animal!

Baby details

People keep asking when the baby is due and since I never formally announced it here are the details.

My due date is December 1st. I go in for surgery tomorrow to get sewn up to hold the baby in. FYI - so not looking forward to that one. I have to be awake since they can't put me under anesthesia because that would also put the baby to sleep. So imagine an hour long annual exam with the Gyno! KILL ME NOW!

The dr will take the stitch out when I hit 37 weeks which will be the first week of November. I may or may not have the baby right then. It just depends on what the baby wants to do.

I am still holding out that the baby will come then and that I will be able to make it to the beach for Thanksgiving. Since my sister will be there with her new baby as well. Please don't lecture me - I will take every precaution to make sure the baby is fine and healthy before I make any decisions. One can hope for the best though!

Air Force Week

So this week was Air Force Week. Earlier this week we had this

fly over our house about 7 or 8 times. Each time getting closer and closer. I felt the house shaking and for a split second I felt like it was going to crash into the house.

Saturday we meet up with Jack and Mandi and we went to the Air Show up at Hill Air Force Base. We were there for 4 hours or so and saw lots and lots of planes fly by as well as many displayed on the ground. It was fun, but man there seemed to be a MILLION people there!

I will have to upload some pictures as soon as I get them from Chad.

Cards

I taught my nephew how to play hand and foot this weekend. He's a natural.

We got to play again on Sunday and here he is saying "It's your turn GO!"

it must be summer time. . .

I have noticed that of all the blogs I follow that very few of them are being updated on a regular basis like they were over the winter months. I guess that means we are all out of the house finally and getting to enjoy the outdoors. But what am I supposed to do all day at work when no one updates their blogs for me to read? Really do you expect me to work all day? That's just plain boring - so here is my plea out to all my fellow bloggers - PLEASE BLOG!!!

I guess that means I need to update and blog as well. Well not much is new with us. Our trip to Cali was fun. We sadly didnt make it to the beach nor did I get to visit all my friends. We did enjoy lots of time with the family, lots of yummy food and lots of card playing. Oh and we were able to make it to our favorite mexican restaurant. The guy who took our order was the same guy who took it 20 years ago! How crazy is that?

We were able to spend 3 full days and had 2 driving days. Why does the drive there seem to go so much faster than the drive home? On our drive home, when we were about 1.5hr from home, it was pitch black and we came around a bend in the road and there was this big shredded tire in the middle of the road. Chad handled it beautifully, however Miss Jetta did not. Her whole undercarriage is covered by a PLASTIC skid plate which was torn to pieces. But luckily no real damage to the car! When we got home we realized we had been dragging the plastic skid plate the rest of the way home.

I was really mad at the stupid semi driver who just left his blown tire in the middle of the road for someone to hit. Had it been me driving I probably would have swirved to miss the tire, then over corrected and rolled the car. Shouldn't people be responsible for the stuff they leave in the road? What if it had caused some horrible accident - shouldn't someone be responsible?

Well there is my update on the trip.

PS our garden is looking good! It looks like we will be getting green beans and sugar snap peas! YEAH!!
