9 months old

Bridger is 9 months old. Here are his stats:
Weight - 21lbs 13oz - 70%
Height - 28.5in - 60%
Head - 47cm - 90%
I keep thinking sooner or later he will grow into his head but so far that has not happened. Bridger has learned a lot of new tricks in the last month. The newest trick is pulling himself up to the standing position. He has mastered crawling in the last two weeks and goes anywhere we don't have blocked off.
He loves hitting the ball and chasing it around the house. He also likes to play catch with mom and dad and has a pretty good throw already. He has discovered his tongue and likes to try and roll it. He loves shaking his head "no no no". We have been trying to teach him to do "yes yes yes" but no such luck.
He did get two teeth.

Ok he really didn't get two real teeth, I found this binky online and thought it was hilarious! I thought I would add to the teeth and pose him with his camo pants and his root beer belly. Last weekend we went on our first family camping trip. Chad's family had a family reunion at a campground called Crystal Hot Springs, which is just northwest of Brigham City in Honeyville. The campground is a bit rundown, but we still had fun. They have Hot, Warm and Cold springs. There are several pools, Jacuzzis and water slides. The warm pools were filled with the mineral water and when you entered the water it made your skin tingle. Bridger made the trip down the water slide with daddy. I think he would have liked it more had he not been so miserably tired. The worst part of the camping trip was the fact that there is a railroad track within a 1/2 mile of the campground. I would have slept through it fine, because I grew up sleeping at Carpenteria where there was always trains going through in the middle of the night. However, Bridger did not like the trains blowing their horns. After the first train it took me almost two hours to get him back to sleep and wouldn't you know another train came and woke him up again. This happened several more times through the night and needless to say Mom, Dad and Baby were all exhausted. Oh and the other worst part of the trip was when I dropped Bridger! I know I am the worst mother ever dropping her child. He was in my lap and he arched his back and the next thing I knew he was laying on the ground screaming. I am not sure exactly how he flipped out of my arms but it was AWFUL! When I told the Dr, he said don't worry it won't be the last time. Not sure if that was supposed to make me feel better or what! Here is a video of Bridger standing up. He is going to be walking before we know it! (Sorry the video was shot sideways - you are going to have to turn your head to watch it.)

The last month's activities

We went to the drive in movie and saw Karate Kid and Despicable Me. Bridger was chilling in the chair waiting for the movie to start. He actually did really well, he fell asleep just before the first movie in his stroller and woke up for a few minutes in between the movies. I couldn't help myself - this was just too cute! He has become a moving machine. Trying to get him dressed or put a diaper on him is nearly impossible. He just wants to be on the move. Movie under the stars at the Capital. Last year we went and had a blast. We brought a picnic dinner and laid on the grass listening to a live band. We had so much fun last year we decided to go again. This year they were playing "The World's fastest Indian" with Anthony Hopkins which was filmed here in Utah at the Salt Flats. While we were waiting for the movie to start we decided to go to Temple Square and see the model of the Salt Lake temple. It was made to scale and was really cool to see all the insides. Well another sad day. Not only is my little baby mobile and into everything he has outgrown his car seat. How is it that he has gotten so big SO FAST? We bought his new car seat and he christened it by trying to eat it.

It always amazes me how simple everyday things are better toys than his actual toys. He loved crawling in the box and playing with his blocks. My friend Jamie came to town last week on her way to Idaho. It was bath time so we thought we would let them play together in the bath tub. Bridger was having a lot more fun than Ellie was. This was his first big bath, without his little bath tub. He sat up great and liked playing in the tub. What is this? Why are these white metal bars in my way from escaping? Come on Mom - I am too cute to be locked up!!
I am ready for my first rodeo Mom. Look only one hand!!!!

Cooking Machine

Last week I got the idea into my head that I wanted to start making some freezer meals to make my life easier when I get home from work. So I started doing searches online for Freezer Meal Recipes. I found a ton that looked so yummy. I put my grocery list together and went shopping on Friday. Friday afternoon, Saturday and part of Sunday I made 34 Freezer Meals. WOW!!!! I have a few more to make tonight that will take me up to 42 Freezer Meals. I figure we will use only 5 a week, so I shouldn't have to cook again for two months! How sweet is that?

I will admit my kitchen was a disaster all weekend. I felt like I was drowning in dishes, but it will be so worth it over the next two months! Most meals only require to boil some pasta, cook some rice or stir fry with a veggie. Super easy right?

Here is a list of the meals I made.

Honey Lemon Chicken
Chicken Chili Rice Casserole
Mango Curry Chicken
Mussaman Beef Curry
Shredded Pork (for pulled pork sandwich or salad)
Spicy Orange Beef
Marinara Meatball subs
Spaghetti Meat
Chili Verde
Apricot Pork Chops
Raspberry BBQ Ribs
Taco Meat
Meat Loaf
Beef Stroganoff
Beef Enchiladas
Chicken Alfredo
Shredded Chicken (for salad, tacos, burritos etc)
Creamy Chicken Enchiladas
Cream Cheese Chicken

8 months old

Bridger is 8 months old today. I can't believe how big he is getting. He weighs about 21lbs and is 28.5 inches long.
He is getting close to crawling, he still scoots on his stomach backwards and will pivot when he needs to get around something. He is starting to get himself up on all fours. He should be crawling full force in the next week or two.
He has mastered rolling from his back to his stomach. Normally when we put him to bed he would roll on his side and snuggle with his blanket. In the last week, he has just rolled right onto his stomach and has been sleeping on his stomach. We had to lower the crib today because he is getting close to pulling himself up too. If you give him your hand he will pull himself up.
I don't know if I am ready to have a fully mobile little boy!

Last night we went to a place called America's Incredible Pizza. It is a pizza buffet along with arcade, mini golf, mini bowling, bumper cars, racing cars and laser tags. They have themed rooms where you eat your dinner - we decided to eat in the "Drive In" room. The movie that was playing was "The Absent Minded Professor" from 1969 or something. I loved that movie as a kid.

Here is a picture of Bridger eating his pizza bone while in the drive in theatre room.

He also had jello for the first time and boy did he love it! He has loved any food we have given him - if we are eating he gets mad if we don't share!

A couple weeks ago my friend's grandpa passed away. She invited us to come to the viewing. Her grandpa was Arnold Friberg who was a famous artist. He was well known for having painted the painting of George Washington praying at Valley Forge as well as the previsualization paintings for the movie The Ten Commandments.

At the viewing they had a lot of his original paintings, some costumes from the movie Ten Commandments that he designed and some Canadian Mounties. He is the only American made an honorary member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

My family was in town last week. My sister and her family got here Friday night and Bridger was already in bed. Saturday morning when both Leo and Bridger were awake we let them play together - they were instantly in love with each other. It was so fun to watch them discover each other. There was some hair pulling, face grabbing and knocking each other over - all out of love of course. Bridger did pull Leo's hair once and he must have pulled pretty hard because poor Leo broke out in full tears. (apparently my son is a brute!)

Summer is here

Over the 4th of July we went to Bear Lake with Chad's family. It was a cold 4th of July - i think we hit 75degrees as a high and that was on Monday. We decided to hit the lake beach and let Bridger test out the sand in preparation for the REAL beach. He was mesmerized by the sand. He loved letting it squish between his toes. As you can tell from this picture he would not look up - he was just trying to figure out what was between his toes.

Chad's sister that lives in Cedar City came up as well. She has a son, Ethan who is 17days younger than Bridger. Here they are together - checking each other out. Ethan crawls and was attacking Bridger - for some reason he was mesmorized by Bridger's ear and would try and eat it!

Grammie bought a new toy for Bridger and he LOVED IT! I love how he was so proud that he had destroyed it! Such a boy!

I love this picture because he has such a big smile! Such a cutie.

Just got done with bath time and momma made his hair crazy!

While at the cabin - we found this sippy cup and decide to let Bridger have a go with it and see how he liked it. He did pretty well with it and seemed to like it.

A couple weekends ago my sister in law came down with her son Fisher and we went to the water park together. The boys loved playing in the water.

Bridger is 7months old

Bridger is 7 months old! He is still the cutest little guy ever! He has loved all the food we have given him. Avocado, peaches, plums, apples, bananas, green beans, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, acorn squash, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, graham crackers, rice, and pasta. He however does not like to go from fruit to veggies. The other night he was having carrots and plum applesauce for dinner. I started with a bite of carrots and he ate it just fine. Then a bite of plum applesauce which he loved. Then another bite of carrots and he broke out into tears. Every bite I switched back and forth and every time he cried when it was carrots! I ended up mixing them together and he loved it. Bridger is still a very happy baby. He has mastered sitting up and if he starts to fall over he will put his arm out to catch himself. He loves shadows, his toes, he loves scooting around on his back and exploring the living room. I never know which direction he will be in his crib. The other morning I went to take the blanket off what I thought was his face and it was his toes. The last couple of days he has mastered holding his bottle FINALLY! He started blowing zerberts a month or so ago and then the last two weeks he stopped blowing zerberts. Yesterday he rediscovered zerberts! He looked like he was foaming at the mouth.

My friend Jamie was visiting over the weekend from Denver with her family. She has a daughter who is 13months old and weighs the same as Bridger. Bridger was in love with her. He kept trying to hold her hand. It was so cute!
