Big Baby

So I was just reading this story about a woman who gave birth to a 19.2lb baby - thankfully it was through Cesarean.

The baby did not even break the world record - that still stands at a 23lber!

I meet with the dr yesterday and he said the baby is doing well and I should plan on him being in there full term. Needless to say I was not happy and wanted to kick the dr in the shin! He said just because he takes the stitches out at 37 weeks does not mean he will come right away! Not the news I was hoping for!

The baby's head is down and resting on some muscle/nerve in my leg and it hurts to walk sometimes. It is not fun.

Pictures

So here are the pictures of the rearranged living room and the nursery. (FINALLY!)

Family visiting. . .

So my sister and parents have been here for the last week. They have been laboring hard all week getting my house organized and the nursery all ready.

My sister is a great organizer and she organized my kitchen for me! Which is fabulous and looks great. I did have a hard time finding my salad spinner the other day but alas it was found. She also painted the nursery and hung some things on the walls. She got the nursery all put together and it looks so cute.

My dad and Chad got the crib set up, fixed the roof and cleaned out the rain gutters.

My mom spent the whole time sewing. She sewed the curtains, skirt for the crib, crib pads, quilt topper and a pillow for the rocker. She also order a book with all kinds of patterns for other baby stuff. Like a liner for the car seat, cover for the car seat and who knows what else she will sew.

Yesterday Chad got the chair rail for the walls in the nursery - he cut them to size and painted them. Hopefully they will get hung today and the nursery will be complete. Then I will be able to take some pictures.

It is weird walking by the nursery and seeing it all done and ready for a baby. I guess this is going to happen - ready or not! I feel like my belly has doubled in size over night. So I guess I better come to terms with it all and get ready because we are down to 9 weeks till the stitches come out.

It must be nesting. . .

Saturday was our 2yr anniversary and I spent the entire day in bed. Sounds relaxing and fun right - WRONG! Friday I got a horrible head cold and was so sick all weekend long. Not so much fun. I had planned on getting the house cleaned and organized, but instead I barely had the energy to get out of bed to go to the bathroom. Not a fun weekend.

Monday I had a dentist appt at 7am and then a dr's appt at 8am. I was still feeling pretty crappy but figured I might as well go to work and get stuff done since I was already up and around. When I got home all I wanted to do was take a nap and stop being sick. Instead all I could do was clean and get organized even though I was way past my burnt out stage.

My sister flew in yesterday from Alabama and luckily she made us a wonderful dinner. While she was in the kitchen cooking away, I should have been relaxing and trying to get over this cold. Instead I was in the bathroom scrubbing the floor and the baseboards. Then when my sister was done making dinner, I washed all the dishes, scrubbed the kitchen sink and sanitized all the kitchen counters.

After dinner I got the notion to rearrange the living room. I have wanted to do it for a while but being pregnant and not being allowed to lift anything has put a damper on that desire. So I sent Chad off to the store since he is opposed to most change and would not agree with the changes. Then I put my sister to work in moving furniture for me. As she lifted and pushed furniture around, I followed her around dusting, vacuuming and wiping down baseboards.

I love how the living room turned out I will have to take a picture to show you the change. When Chad got home (he knew why I was kicking him out) I asked him what he thought of the rearragnement and he had no comment. It will have to grow on him.

The joys of nesting. Tonight we are tackling the office again to see if we can get some sort of organization down there. I might as well take advantage of this nesting stage because I am sure it is going to be short lived.

Just call me Garfield. . .

Ok that title may date me because seriously when was the last time anyone heard of Garfield - I know it has been several years at least for me.

So back on point - so why should you call me Garfield? Because I LOVE LASAGNA! Love love love! I hardly ever make it because hello it is easier to just buy the one at Costco that is to die for. Well I was at the store the other day and figured it would be cheaper to make my own plus I could fill it with all our fruits from our garden. I already had the sauce, the sausage, the fresh herbs and lots and lots of zucchini and crock neck squash to spice it up. So all I needed was the noodles and some cheese. A lot of recipes call for ricotta or can be substituted for cottage cheese - which personally grosses me out. I love cottage cheese alone but in lasagna it bugs for some reason. So as I was pondering this substitution I thought of an even better one! Spinach Artichoke Dip!! Doesn't that sound divine - I do love spinach artichoke dip A LOT! and I think it pairs perfectly with Lasagna.

I made 4 lasagnas yesterday to put in the freezer, well one didn't make it to the freezer we had it for dinner yesterday. I had one piece and Chad was making fun of me because I was acting like Bob from "What about Bob" - in the clip below go to the 3 min mark to see the famous scene.

Needless to say the lasagna was AWESOME and I felt like I could have eaten the full pan!

Here is a picture of the finished masterpiece.

Catch up on the last couple weeks

So I have been lazy about blogging with pictures. I finally had Chad send me some pictures of events from the last couple of weeks.

Aug 1st we drove out to meet Nick and Stef in Tooele for the Tooele County Fair. It was kind of a shocker for me because it was so small. When I grew up I remember going to the fair every year and there were tons and tons of things to see - exhibits, animals, rides, and all sorts of entries people entered to be judged. At the Tooele fair there was a 10X10 tent that housed all the animals that had been entered - There were about 15 birds (chickens, turkeys, pigeons, etc) a baby cow and a pony. There were about 5 rides that looked really scary and rickety and you couldn't pay me money to climb into one of those death traps! When I think of the fair I think of all the great food vendors - well not so much at the Tooele fair. There was no big corn dogs, turkey legs, fried snickers, ice cream or my all time favorite from when I was a kid was the Hot Pastrami sandwich.

I did notice there were a lot of classy people with really classy tattoos!

The whole reason we went to the fair was to go to the Demolition Derby. It was my first and I must say it was very entertaining. We had a blast!

I couldn't believe how many people were there - it was down to standing room only. I would love to go to another and highly suggest you attend one as well!

Aug 5th, Chad and I got to go up to girl's camp. As we were driving up to Heber as we were coming around the mountain into Park City we saw this black cloud with lots of lightening. Chad said that is right where we are going camping! I was excited to see the rain for a couple reasons, one because I love rain and two because it cools off! It dropped 20 degrees as we got into the storm - finally weather in the 70's!

I had prepared all the food this year but since I had no time off accrued I could not go up for the week. So I had all the food ready and frozen so it was just heat and serve. When we arrived all the girls yelled in gratitude for the yummy food.

Here are a few pictures of the girls from camp and one of me in my tie-dyed apron they made me.

Aug 8th - we attended the Sandy Balloon Festival. As I was driving home from work on Friday I heard on the radio about the event. The event was all of 2 blocks from our house where there is a park and the ballons lift off. We arose at 6am on a Saturday which was not terribly fun. We got there and it was a little cloudy and windy so they were not sure if they were going to be able to fly the ballons or not. Finally by 7:30 there were about 6 ballons all inflated and waiting for lift off. Sadly only two ended up taking off while the others deflated and packed up. It was a bit of a dud but we got to enjoy the beautiful sunrise.

Lastly is a picture my mom asked for. I am a little hesitant to post this after having been insulted last week with the "I didnt know you were pregnant" comment. I have not posted any pictures of me pregnant because it is not pretty and I don't really want to see how fat I am. Here is one picture Chad took last Sunday when I was 23 weeks and 5 days.

SERIOUSLY??????

So the other night I was at cub scouts and one of the new leaders was talking to me asking me about things and trying to figure out what they are doing. We were talking and I thought man she is really nice! She is tall blond and skinny as can be and has the cutest little girl.

Then she asked so do you guys have kids? I said just this one and point to my stomach. She said "Oh I didn't know you were pregnant".

After my first impulse to beat her or strangle her all I could think was "Are you freaking kidding me?" Well I thought other things but I should probably keep this post PG.

Do people really just see me as a fat blob? I was really mad and obviously have not gotten over it! I HATE SKINNY PEOPLE!
