Thanksgiving

Oh yeah! We finally made it! Carpinteria heaven on earth!!!! Thanksgiving is my favorite Holiday of the year. Instead of being at the best place in the world with my family I was in the worst place - the HOSPITAL for the last two years! I hate doctors, hospitals and anything medical related!! Thankfully this year life was back to normal and I got to be at the beach with my family again. It was super fun that we had Bridger with us and to see him experience the beach for the first time. I got to eat at Tito's Tacos - yummm, see the new LA temple Visitor Center (which is amazing!), and get the best pastrami sandwich at The Hat. First stop was at the LA temple where we meet up with my sister's family. Bridger got to see his cousin for the first time in 4 months. Boy have they both grown so much in that 4 months. After a brief stop there, we headed out to the Rincon to meet up with my parents. Here is where Bridger first experienced the ocean. After a day at the Rincon our reservations started at Carpinteria and we headed in to set up camp for the week. The weather was not super warm, only in the 60's but that is a million times better than the weather they were having in Utah lows in the teens and two big snow storms! We did make it out to play in the sand a couple of times. We dug a big hole for the boys to play in and they loved it. As soon as Bridger figured out how to crawl out he headed straight for the water, and he loved the water. He loved chasing his shadow.
My mom gave Bridger this new toy for his bday, it really helped him master walking.

However I think his favorite thing to do was ride on the bike. We borrowed my cousin's bike and boy did he love it!

We took some family pictures while on our trip.

Here is all (well most of) the family just after we had stuffed our faces.

Bridger Turns 1!!!

My little baby turned one! At his twelve month appointment his stats were Weight - 24lbs 5.5oz 75% Height - 31.5in 90% Head - 47.5 cm 80%

Things Bridger has learned - he got more and more confident in walking. Except when he has his footed jammies on and goes into the kitchen on the tile floor. He is learning to jump, when I get him out of his crib a lot of the time he is standing there jumping on the bed. He still loves to eat and his milk. He finally mastered the hard tip sippy cup. We tried the soft tip one first and he would just bite the tip and let the liquid coming dripping out. It took him a while to learn to suck on the sippy cup. It must come out a lot faster than the bottle because he lets the milk pool in his mouth and then pulls the sippy cup out and he then pushes the milk out and it goes everywhere!

Birthday #1 with the Jones'
We celebrated his birthday at the Brighton Cabin with all of Chad's family. We were all sick so it made for a long weekend. Bridger had an ear infection, Chad a sinus infection and I had a bad cold.

Here is his pirate cake.

We tried to teach Bridger to blow in preparation to blow out his candle, but he did not catch onto the concept of blowing. (sorry about the crappy picture - the lighting is all messed up but this is the only picture I have!)
We waited too late in the day to do his birthday cake. It was his bed time and he was not in the best of mood. For being such a good eater, I was shocked that he did not down the whole cake.Bridger opening his gifts. Bridger and his cousin Ethan who is 17 days younger than him. Birthday #2 with the Mauldins at the beach for Thanksgiving. Between the 11th of November and November 28th Bridger got 4 teeth. He went from 1 tooth to 5 in just two weeks. Made for a long couple of weeks, especially with being sick and two trips. With all his new teeth we figured it was time to teach him how to brush his teeth. I think he just likes chewing on his toothbrush more than anything.

Walking Machine

On Halloween eve, Bridger took his first steps with no help at all. Here is a video of him a couple days later. It is hard to catch it on video.

Halloween

Chad took Bridger trick or treating up and down our street while I stayed home handing candy out. We didn't have a lot of kids come this year since it rained for a while. Here is Bridger going through the stash of candy, he tried eating the sucker with the wrapper on.

We stopped at Harmon's and Bridger got to drive the car in his Halloween costume. He is showing off his clapping skills.

I decided to make a ScArY Halloween Dinner. We served meatloaf burned hands, bloody jello brain, blood shot eyeballs, marsh monsters coming out of Roasted Pear and Butternut squash soup and bloody worm juice.

We went out to dinner at the Blue Lemon which is a little Bistro across the street from temple square. It was pretty tasty. After dinner, Bridger was interested in the fountains, so we took a picture.

Bridger's first snow.

We woke up to about 6 or 7 inches of snow this morning. So I dressed Bridger up in his snow suit and plopped him down in the snow. He was very curious about the white stuff. He thought it was fun to lay in the snow. I tried to get him to eat some but he was not going for it. When his glove fell off he was running his fingers through the fresh powder and was not sure what to think.

11 months old. . .

Bridger turned 11 months old this week.

We decided to take his 11mo picture in his Halloween Costume along with his baby pumpkin. You can't see in the picture but I drew a face on his pumpkin and it has one little tooth, just like Bridger.

Bridger learned how to clap and give 'high five'. He also loves to throw his toys down the stairs and listen to them hit the tile entry floor. He took his first steps on October 11th. Got his first tooth on September 28th. He loves opening and closing doors, just to see them move back and forth. If he hears a door open he high tails it over to the door so that he can open and close it.

Yesterday we went to the BYU vs Wyoming game. It was not supposed to rain until the 4th quarter but when we arrived it was pouring rain. We all put on our plastic ponchos and went into the game. Thankfully it stopped raining right when the game started. While at the game Bridger had his first red vine. Boy did he love it, but who knew a red vine was so messy?

Bridger did pretty well during the game considering he missed his morning and afternoon nap. Everytime the crowd would cheer he would start crying, because it scared him.
We went to Macey's to get some groceries and to get our pumpkins. Here is Bridger saying he wants the BIG pumpkin not the little one.

Bridger doing the taste test to see if it is a good pumpkin.

Whenever we go to Macey's Chad always has to get an ice cream cone and they gave Bridger a free mini cone.

Last weekend we went to the pumpkin patch across the street at Farnsworth Farms. Chad and I went last year and had fun, so this year we decided to invite Chad's family to go with us. Chad's brother Josh and his family came as well as Chad's parents. We went on the hayride and Bridger loved playing with the hay.

(I know this picture is not great but it is so cute of him throwing the hay - he just won't sit still and all pictures are blurring with him nowadays.)

Before we went to the Pumpkin Patch we had dinner and watched the BYU game at home with everyone. Bridger had fun playing with his cousin Derek who is 6mo younger than Bridger.

Bridger learning about bubbles.

Just because he is so cute!

Helping daddy do laundry.

Playing at the park.
